New wireless competitor Public Mobile opened 25 stores back in March 18th. They also announced a special pre launch promo that gave every client free Canadian Long distance for life. It is rumor that this may finish when they fully launch in May, hinting that their network will go live around this time.
Apparently launching earlier than expected will be pushed back. On their website it says that Toronto “network launch at the end of May” and Montreal “network launch at the end of June”. Hence the promo has been extended a couple of weeks.
Also, the reason for the delay is because their antennas that are installed on the street lights, had to be moved for some reason. In the side of rumor mill there is talk that a new promotion might be coming. Public Mobile will be giving one month of free service and $75 worth of free accessories just for signing up.
