Alright So I’ve researched this, Wind is only compatible with phones that run on 1700MHZ and 2100MHz AWS band, And the HTC Magic’s bands are 900/2100 MHz- which fit with Wind- http://www.htc.com/www/product/magic/specification.html . But here’s the problem It seems to depend on who got your phone from for example: Rogers has the HTC Magic yet theirs runs on Qualcomm MSM 7200, 528MHz, so the HTC Magic from Rogers doesn’t appear to be compatible with Wind, and if your phone was somehow bought in the US from T-Mobile then it would be compatible (since T-mobile US 3G phones run on AWS.) So like I said it depends on where/ what provider you got your phone from..and if they run on AWS..It’s up to that provider to ad that frequency to their chipsets, for such phones to work on Wind. For more info check out wind on their answered questions page involving Bands/ AWS etc: http://www.windmobile.ca/community/WIND-news/detail/answering-questions/
      Hope my Essay helped :D

The Nexus One will also work with WIND. Since it’s using AWS frequency. Also, DAVE wireless (when it launches) will also be using AWS so can use Nexus one on that too!

I doubt it, since the Blackberry curve only supports GSM frequency (850/900/1800/1900) there are currently no Blackberry’s with AWS frequency. BUT… this is all going to change very soon. Nokia has already started to roll out a lot of AWS phones like the N900. So everyone will soon follow, hang tight.

2100mhz only exists over seas. it is the compatible roaming band for 3g. only north american band compatible is 1700mhz.

      Hello Harry Kalsi:

Sorry, for the late reply. The Lg Rumor will not work Wind mobile network, the phones runs in 850/1900 MHz Dual-Band. While the wind mobile network works on AWS/1700 Mhz/BandIV network. As long as a phone run on the AWS/1700 Mhz/BandIV network it should be okay.

    Hello Yoh,

The DoCoMo P-04A should be able to work on Wind Mobile network.

AWS versions of phones support normally 900/1700/2100 allowing for North American 3G band work. The Docomo is runs on japanese AWS likely 1700mhz. SO yes DeMex is likely correct… best thing to do (if you have the phone) is ask them to try a WindMobile simcard to make sure it works. Wind mobile is usually quite friendly about this =)

hey demex and ap, thanks for your help!

unfortunately, i do not think they’ll let me cut off a corner of their sim card for use with the hypersim, so i can’t exactly *test* it out if i were to go in…..

i also found this on this website: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/americas/5241-wind-coming-canada.html

it states: “Wind is coming to parts of Canada later this year. They own native AWS (UMTS 1700MHz) licenses and have an off-network roaming agreement with Rogers (850/1900MHz GSM&UMTS).” what do they mean by off-network roaming? would it cost me to be “off-network roaming”? such as roaming into another country.

If the 1700Mhz band is not available then you have no phone. OR you are roaming on Rogers at a 25 cent charge… check out the coverage map in your area to see if this would affect you.

Not likely. The Samsung link is a CDMA phone, also known as the “freeform” was originally released for US cellular. So unless they release a new version, I would say the answer is it definitely won’t work.

Hey, according to the HTC website, the HTC HD2 does use the AWS frequency. So it will work on Wind mobile! Actually, I also had a chance to play with one at a wind mobile booth. It has a very large screen, plays 720p videos, it’s an awesome phone!

We sell versions that work. you prob got a version that is not compatible. its more than just the phone it has to have the bands as well. If it can work on T mobile it can on Wind/Mobilicity.

Is it possible to use a Nokia C3 from Chatr on wind network? I’ve been told no, but was hoping to find a more positive answer. I was told the frequencies don’t match up and therefore unable to use on Wind

Hi! I recently unlocked my Motorola QUENCH from Rogers. I see it on your list above, but it doesn’t seem to be picking up the Wind network. Any suggestions?? Is there a setting or something I need to tweak??
