Android 2.2 froyo Nexus One

Android 2.2 nexus source code (well not really just for the nexus one but is a nice thought) went live yesterday. Nexus one users will eventually be receiving over the air a fully compiled OTA version of 2.2 Froyo. It will be hitting small batches of Nexus one handsets version FRF83.

Google Nexus One web store FAIL

We all know that Google tried to sell the Nexus one through the famous Google phone store. What you dint know is that it was actually a complete failure and Google has decided to switch to the more traditional way. The Nexus One will only be sold through the carriers, even though it was a nice channel to be sold through the web.

Andy Rubin, head of Android said that the web store has “remained a niche channel for early adopters.”

Did you know? Phones and PDAS made a baby called the smartphone! A combination of a cell phone and PDA. So did an Apple’s Ipad make a baby with a smartphone or is it just a new PDA? While common knowledge to most tech geeks, if you walk into a Future shop or Best Buy and ask for a PDA chances are they will give you a smartphone. Well shouldn’t they be giving me an iPad instead? To understand the future of cell phones we can look at the past and appreciate the evolution of this essential cell phone technology. While PDA devices are now discontinued, they helped pave the way to cell phones we have and love today. Personal Digital Assistants(PDAS) were separate from cell phones until one day, they were combined as one (amazing)!  Enter the mighty smartphone we know today by many names such as as;  Google Nexus one, HTC EVO 4G, and even the Apple Iphone 4G! So could the Apple Ipad follow a similar path in technology evolution to the PDA? Could it be the first step in the creation a super-smartphone? Or is it just an improved PDA that will soon merge will smartphones? …

Rogers iPad now available on Pre-order… New data Plans

For the Apple iFans the iPad will be available on May 28th here in Canada. For those that are interested in pre-order head over to the Apple site. Rogers has announced their new data plans and it seems that you don’t have to sign up for a yearly contract and can go monthly.

Public Mobile launching Toronto and Montreal at “end of May”, “end of June”

New wireless competitor Public Mobile opened 25 stores back in March 18th. They also announced a special pre launch promo that gave every client free Canadian Long distance for life. It is rumor that this may finish when they fully launch in May, hinting that their network will go live around this time.

Wow, first it was sliced bread and now it’s 3D Phones? Samsung has released an actual pretty good phone for once. The phone doesn’t require 3D glasses for proper 3D visualization, the only kicker is that it’s only available in South Korea
